All right then. Listen up. Enough of your stalling and rationalizing. It''s time for you to step up to the plate. Time to (literally) face the music. While you''ve been just sitting around, I was creating this Endurance Test.

I''m challenging you right from the get-go. This album begins innocently enough but picks up momentum quickly. If you''re faint of heart, find something that''s anchored securely and hold onto it. I kinda hope you''re the adventurous type, though, and you''ll allow yourself to be whisked away and up into what one of my reviewers called "an aurora borealis of sound." You''ll likely become winded during this album so you may want to consider establishing mandatory rest periods between some of the tracks.

I compose on-the-fly, never committing to manuscript anything before I play. I don''t have time to write...I''m too busy trying to reach my destination. When I finish a piece, my software will print it out. If you take that idiosyncrasy and splash into my tendency toward being a perfectionist, you may very well ponder: how can this guy hit all the right notes, create harmonious music, and have it come out "perfectly?" Well, it doesn''t. My music is far from perfect. What I demand from myself is to have it sound "just so." Quite often, I leave my mistakes in there ''cause they sound better than what I had intended.

There''s an adage which claims that "the journey is the destination." There was a brief moment when I thought "no one''s gonna be interested enough in my noise to actually wanna pay for it." Well, it''s ok if no one buys it. I do my music ''cause it''s a journey I love to make. I just thought you might like to join me for awhile. And if you don''t, I think it''s your loss.

It''s an extraordinary adventure into a dimension of sound and it meanders through feelings and emotions and . . . . Aw, enough already. Just play the darn disc and hear for yourself.

A coupla tips ''n'' stuff: If you listen through a fine set of earphones, you''ll hear things you might not have heard otherwise. "Project A119" is my one "message" piece. If you can believe it, the U.S. Gov''t considered detonating a nuclear device on the Moon as a show of strength during the Cold War. My piece is a sort of soundtrack to that preposterous plan.

Have fun!

ABOUT THE ARTIST
In February of 2006, one of Mychael Patrick''s original compositions, "Mamba Preto," was selected for inclusion on the soundtrack of the first-ever World Parkinson Congress, held in Washington DC. That he composes and produces music of this caliber in spite of the challenges which parkinson''s disease present, makes his accomplishments that much more meaningful. — J. Dickman, Stumbeek Press

PREVIEW
Things were quite abuzz around the Pleen Corporation about the arrival of Mychael Patrick''s "Endurance Test"! His previous projects were filled with high energy rhythm sections, sprinkled with some humour, twisted surprises,
and an ample amount of unique phrasings. "Endurance Test" did not disappoint. We were sent from one soundscape to another. This guy is ''gone.'' Did I mention that he''s ''unique,'' as he truly is all that!
