Details:
Myra Lease is all about the release that creating music offers to five individuals who love to rock! Musical influences range from Zeppelin, Deep purple, The WHO to the Foo Fighters. Vocal influences rang from Jefferson Airplane to The Divinyls and The Pretenders to Garbage.

Fluid guitar riff’s, a heavy, swirling B3, synth’s, an occasional 12 string and intricate punchy bass lines layered all around a solid pounding foundation of drums, is Myra Lease.

Carla’s vocals are powerful and chilling! Right from the start it’s obvious that her voice is disciplined and even though she rocks hard her vocal jazz roots and vocal training are evident.

Copying no one style, Myra Lease is uniquely original in their style and sound and in an effort to replicate a live performance all the basic tracks on the CD “Made For Me” were recorded live and laid down to analog tape before being transferred to the digital domain for mixing and mastering.

The song writing ranges from fantasy to deeper social and political issues with unabashed honesty and no apologies. Be forewarned, the hooks are sticky and you’ll find yourself singing them after the first listen!

Myra Lease was formed in 2005 from the ashes of two successful bands from Portland Oregon and the band was ready to record a year later in the fall of 2006 after performing for local audiences.

Who do they sound like? Good question. Cool, Modern, Retro, Classic, Alternative, Euro, Glam, Pop? It’s all music, and the amalgam of styles that collide within the bounds of Myra Lease, simply equal great music! How about Post Punk, Non-screamo, Speedlounge Rock!

From the opening cut “All the Queens Men” which is a commentary on social phobia’s to the final transmission of “Far Away” which is about the wonderment of life’s final journey, Myra Lease is truly unique.
