"This CD screams with the passion of rebellion."

HEAVY METAL HARMONICA BAND
It sounds like a guitar solo aggressively ripping one side of the music scale to heaven and hell and back again. But if you listen closer it’s just a little ten hole harmonica. Nicky Shane is the fastest harmonica player in the world and when you hear him rocket a hundred and three notes in twenty seconds you’ll swear (like many others) you’ve never heard anything like it. Using guitar effects to enhance the explosion of a hurricane Nicky builds a unique groove on every solo that is causing many lead guitar players to take notice.

HMH started up in Los Angeles in 2004 when Nicky met Rock guitarist Sam Kelly at a club and shared his idea of Heavy Metal Harmonica. It was a natural fit. They discovered with Sam’s high energy grooves they build songs that allow Nicky’s melodies and lyrics to stand up and soar.

“The two iconoclasts are dangerous with their intent and you can feel it when they‘re on stage and Nicky’s harmonica belt is outrageously sic” says Mike Baker of The LA Music Scene. “With songs like ‘Yes Boss, Manipulation and A Day Wasted’ this music screams with the passion of rebellion.

There are many Hard Rock/Heavy Metal bands who occasionally use the harmonica to accentuate a song but has anybody waxed it into the rhythms and solo’s as Nicky Shane? With such an aggressive hue of colors the sound actually chasses you down and engulfs you. WARNING: FASTEST HARMONICA PLAYER IN THE WORLD, (On the CD back trey) is valid.

BACKGROUND
Most people have a hard time juggling more than one career. Then again, some people crave it. A visual artist since he was nine, Nicky now does many art commissions. His latest is a series of Cafe''s and Asian influenced art. Nicky has also had a semi-professional football career, a theatrical career including touring the world for fourteen years as a professional stand-up comedian. During that time Nicky played the lead in three independent movies and had his music in several others. He worked as a studio musician, edited movies, writing books, poetry, and many screenplays and of course a ton of comedy material. Included in that time period was Nicky''s biggest challenge of writing and performing three one-man-shows. This was extremely satisfying but Nicky was constantly looking for innovative musicians who could grasp his idea of a Heavy Metal Harmonica. In the mean time Nicky kept practicing and developing his chops.

After hundreds of jams and recording a plethora of original music (with many different bands and musicians) Nicky finally hooked up with Sam Kelly in Los Angeles. Sam is a veteran musician and actor who’s put music at the forefront. He could see and understand how a radical harmonica could turn a lot of ears and break the monotony of the Rock guitar solo.

Nicky’s goal has always been to take his instrument to another realm and out of it''s tired stereotype, the Blues and Country. With the resurgence of Rock "Heavy Metal Harmonica" is breaking myths and blazing the path of a slightly different Heavy Metal course.
