Singer songwriter folk singer with crossover appeal

12 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Modern Folk, FOLK: Celtic Folk

Details:
To coincide with his album release ‘Songs that chose me’ Richard Anderson completed a two week tour of the ‘Beanscene’ outlets in Scotland. He followed that by a week performing in some London clubs including Leonards, Tommy Flynns, Camden Town and The Comedy Pub in Oxenden St

Now Richard is opening for Peter Bruntnell on July 20th at The Anchor Inn, Anchor Lane, Barcombe, Lewes, East Sussex BN8 5BS. This is a birthday bash for Mike Lance.

Formerly based in Glasgow, Anderson left his hometown (Annan, Dumfriesshire)
for the city again in 2000. As a member of the Glasgow Songwriters Club, Anderson developed as a performer and found favour with club audiences - being voted ‘Best newcomer’ the following year.
‘Set packed full of memorable songs’ – Glasgow Songwriter’s Magazine.

As well as playing everywhere that’s anywhere (King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, Acoustic
Affair, Nice n Sleazy’s, Stereo the list goes on), Anderson wasn’t slow to come to the
attention of radio producers either. The lyrics to his first single ‘I’m not getting into
conversation’ caught the attention of BBC Radio Scotland, leading to a live session
on the station’s ‘Celtic Connections’ programme and subsequent record company
interest.

‘Beautiful…Sounds just great’ - Mary Ann Kennedy, BBC Radio Scotland

Despite more play on the ‘Brand new Opry’ Show and being on the radar of the
industry’s movers and shakers, Anderson continued to plough his own solo/acoustic
furrow. Introduced to David Scott, through the New Deal for Musician’s Scheme, a
creative partnership was forged which saw The Pearlfisher’s frontman produce the
E.P. ‘Just as I am’ which again found favour with producers on BBC Radio Scotland
‘TomMorton’, and ‘Iain Anderson’ joining the cause this time.

Returning to his hometown in 2003 to finish writing ‘Songs that chose me’ and with
David Scott at the controls, Richard Anderson created a collection of twelve truly
memorable tracks.

Now living overlooking the Solway, he continues to gain consistent press coverage and earlier this year attracted the attention of Loose Records who stepped in with a record and publishing contract. ‘Songs….’ is available available from retailers across the country (via https://www.tradebit.com) and tracks will soon be available via iTunes
