The CD features Shirley Jackson on Tenor Saxophone & Vocals, Dawn Hatfield on Baritone Saxophone, Rob MacIntosh on Tenor Saxophone, Dave Harrison on Trumpet & Flugelhorn, Brad Conrad on Guitar, Carter Chaplin on Guitar, Phil Potvin on Harmonica, Dan ‘Autopilot Slim’ Dufour on Guitar, Jef Wirchenko on Bass, Morrow Scot-Brown on Bass, Gary Potts on Drums, Barry Cooke on Piano & Organ, John Eyman on Guitar, Joe Murphy on Harmonica, Dave MacIsaac on Guitar and Marks Lockhart on Drums.
The CD’s official release will begin at the Halifax Jazz Festival on Tuesday, July 17th. Shirley Jackson & Her Good Rockin’ Daddys will be touring their CD release summer in the wild, wild west of Alberta’s Red Onion August 3rd & 4th, in Calgary, and another six nights of blues at The Blues On Whyte, in Edmonton from August 6th until the 11th. Returning to Nova Scotia to team up with International recording artist Tracy Nelson at Bearly’s House of Blues Sat. Aug. 25th and the ‘Annual Open House’ for the Hope for Wildlife Society fundraiser on August 26th, in Seaforth, Nova Scotia.
Jackson, originally from Alberta, relocated to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1988. She has been active in the Maritime music scene since her arrival, and has made an impact with her special blend of blues not only in the Maritimes, but also across the country and into the U.S. Jackson was the Toronto Maple Blues Award Winner for Horn Player of the Year in 2003. Her first CD, Careful What You Ask For, was nominated for an East Coast Music Award in the category of Best Blues Artist/Group (2003).
