John(Suavee)McGill, born in Indianapolis, In. Graduated from North Central HS in 1984, pursued the military, honorably discharged with honors from the Army. Being active in High School band, Jazz Band, Church Choirs, as a pianoist and organist,also able to play the bass guitar, lead guitar, drums, and trumpet. Begin writing songs at age 7, expounding on jazz and gospel. Played with many professionals in the music industry from R&B, gospel and Jazz. He has written and composed many songs, and arrangements for many talented artist. His many mentors including, Theolonius Monk, Miles Davis, Joe Sample, Doc Powell, Alex Bugnon, Ramsey Lewis, Art Porter, and many more which has contributed to his style. He truly believes in love, so he began to write many love ballads, but also likes to get loose and express live moving music that makes you want to swing. Suavee began his own record label in 2000 and created many demos for many artist. Now happy, and excited to be doing his first project for himself, it has been one exciting rollercoaster. Special thanks to my mother(Lottie) for your support and keeping me active in music. And to God who allowed me to get this far. And to my fans, thank you for your support. His other accomplishments, includes, a music scholarship to college, many numerous music awards, stellar award with The late great Rev. James Cleveland, leader of the jazz band called GWV (Gentlemen With a Vision), soon to release their first CD album. Suavee has played in many venues, and is no stranger to achieving greatness in all that He pursues. This CD is full of energy, excitement, romance, swing, and all around smooth, soulful sounds that will get you in the mood for love.
Be also on the lookout for Suavee''s next CD release entitled "Right on Time", which will be released in May of 2008, bringing even more smooth, and vibrant sounds that you have come to expect from Suavee. In His next project, He emphasizes more on piano solo''s that will mesmerize you with smooth, energetic movements, and a sound that seems out of this world.
