MP3 The Cobra Movement - Wichita, Kansas

The Pixies meets Tom Waits meets Sonic Youth meets Morphine meets The Flaming Lips... this is The Cobra Movement

21 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Noise

Details:
From F5 Magazine:
"Reminiscent of Echo and the Bunnymen, Morphine and Tom Waits in some of his more edgy moments comes The Cobra Movement.

Named after a short-lived post-WW II art movement that drew together artists from Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam, which used a cobra as its symbol with each of the respective cities representing the head, body and tail of the cobra. Not that you need to know that to listen to the album.

A dark and frequently chilling release, Wichita, Kansas is rife with tales of murder ("Avon Calling"), slips toward psychosis (the dark and delicious "Red Scooter Trigger" and "Mr. Sleepy") and the odd and inexplicable ("Stickman Burns Red" and "Golden Boy and the Art Police").

That said, the affair isn''t without moments of light(er)(?) matter ("Gato (Means Cat)," "Fear of Snakes") and (maybe) downright rays of light ("The Lessons of Your Life"), plus three short lessons on the original Cobra Movement.

Along the way there''s plenty of weird noise (fading radio signals, squeaks and low, mumbled lyrics), lo-fi keyboards and dark, rumbly bass lines.

Wade Hate, Curtis Love, Golden Boy and Francine Perot (the main members of TCM) are joined by Stickman, Boshi Banrai, Sister Hate and Patoonia Boom Boom on what may be one of the most thoroughly bizarre and enjoyable rides you''ll take this year."
