The San Diego band, Colporter, paints with light on a canvas of black with their new album "Sovereign Mind".
Determined to carve a niche in unscathed Rock Music territory, the three members of COLPORTER have set forth in pursuing their unique sound of compelling songwriting and passionate heavy metal music showcased on their striking new album Sovereign Mind, out in stores July 11th. The tender voice of Sarah Paolini is steeped in the mesmerizing chords of her 5-string bass, which holds the quiet power in David Paolini''s rough and eccentric 7-string guitar. Played against the cut-throat deliverance of Josh Mator''s drum-playing, Colporter brings unforgettable music which seeks the light within the dark.
Rich melodies and impressive instrumentation is exactly what Sovereign Mind is all about. The striking combination of Sarah''s 5-string bass guitar and David''s awesome control over the 7-string guitar creates a force much larger than the sum of its parts. Joining forces with Steve Russell, who co-produced and engineered P.O.D.''s first three albums, their sound pushes the boundaries of modern heavy metal.
Russell, with the directional help of Steve Weatherby, owner of Global Artist Development, has arranged COLPORTER''s unique sound to accomplish the feat of bringing a positive message into a genre that is full of negative emotion. David feels that this alliance has had a more positive effect on his sound. His guitar playing is already compared to significant guitar legends such as Zack Wild, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Eddie Van Halen, while sound engineers and musical experts are drawn to David''s gripping sound and playing level. Emotional and provoking lyrics drip with eloquence as they write about spirituality, life, and hope. "Words have weight. You are responsible for the words you say and what you portray," Sarah explains.
Playing throughout San Diego and Los Angeles, COLPORTER continues to impress audiences of all backgrounds. With upcoming shows in iconic rock music venues such as The Roxy Theatre and The Whiskey A Go Go, COLPORTER summons the darkest and deepest waters in all audiences and puts on a fantastic show. Invited to perform at the L.A. Gates of Metal Festival in July, they will play alongside heavy metal veterans, celebrating great heavy metal music. Their most electrifying performance, however, will be on July 11th at COLPORTER''s official album debut, titled Sovereign Mind, at The Whiskey A Go Go on Hollywood''s Sunset Strip.
