MP3 Corpse In Waiting - Waiting To Die

Guitars from Hell- A hardcore journey with alternating moods between dark, energetic, cynical and humorous. One man''s review of life so far, and his contemplation of impending old age and ultimate decay. As seen through slightly suicidal eyes.

12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Hard Rock, ROCK: Modern Rock

Details:
"This CD is a must for any aspiring guitarists or fans of heavily guitar influenced Hard Rock! Russ Colwell''s music and guitar playing has incorporated styles reminiscent of: Randy Rhoades, Edward Van Halen, Jethro Tull, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath etc. Unfortunately most
of the wild guitar leads and heavy changes are after the first two minutes of the songs so you need to buy the CD to hear them. Anyway it''s just a damn shame if you don''t hear this entire CD "
Harry Shwartz - Pikesville, MD ( * Note- This is not a real person)
"Corpse In Waiting" is the end result of one man''s contemplating our ultimate mortality.
We are all "Corpses In Waiting", from the moment of conception until our ultimate demise. Some of us will just linger here a little longer than others. But ultimately the Grim Reaper awaits our fate with unyielding patience, knowing in the end, he always gets his way.
"I am myself, ''Waiting To Die'', having seen more than my fair share of this reality and shall look forward to the harvest."
Sincerely: R. Colwell

Russ Colwell (Composer, all guitars, keyboards, vocals,) and Jim Bullock (Drums and vocals) were the backbone of the former Southeast Baltimore Band- Fallen Angels. Fed up and with no prospects of success due to the stranglehold on the music business by "The Big Corporate Machine", they abandoned the music scene to pursue other careers.
But the recent rapid growth of Indy Music sites sparked a renewed interest in putting together some "Hot" original compositions. These songs will definitely make you think.
And every song has Russ Colwell''s own personal guarantee to be chock full of "earth shattering guitar work" and "blistering, yet melodic" leads! All set up by Jim Bullock''s steady yet powerful style of percussion.
Hopefully the listener will be left feeling like the dead fish seen lying on the newspaper: Limp with eyes and mouth wide open after hearing for instance- Song # 5 - "No Dialogue", a personal glimpse at an attempted conversation with God.
Or # 9 - "Kimberly (We Are All Star Stuff)" On the surface it appears to be a simple love song but at it''s root it transcends the deeper universal truth... That we are all "Star Stuff" as so eloquently explained in Dr. Carl Sagan''s book Cosmos. All the atomic elements of our bodies were once cooking inside the nucleus of an ancient star, and they will eventually recombine to a denser form of matter in the core of a new star, eons from now. Thus the song sings of a love truly eternal...beyond the realms of this world. So meditate, hallucinate or just contemplate the cosmos and enjoy.
Song # 10 - "Never Again", for those listeners too young to get it, is reminiscent of Hal the computer from 2001 A Space Odyssey, giving advice to a modern day crack-head.
Song # 4 - "Hey Scotty Boy", is a little diddy about some guy who killed his wife and inadvertently gave all of us fisherman a bad name.
Song # 11 - "September 10 (Before)", Paints a picture of the pre- 911 New York mentality; symbolizing our commitment to a peaceful world of "brotherhood", arms wide open welcoming all the citizens of the "New World" to our way of life.... which all came shattering down with the following days events and changed the world forever!
This song leads right into # 12 - "Remember What You Saw". Written immediately after September 11 by R. Colwell, an earlier version has previously been signed to a non-exclusive contract with TouchTunes Digital Jukebox, Inc. for use in their database of material available for public use. (Performed by R. Colwell, J. Bullock and Charles Sommers under the band name: Trojan Horse). This song paints vivid imagery of the tragic day''s events and does what we sincerely believe all "good" songs should do. Whether about comedy or tragedy, they make you think and feel!
This CD has been professionally manufactured (not a "burned" CD-R), and the jacket contains all printed lyrics along with other notes of interest.
