ELECTRONIC: Dance, ELECTRONIC: Disco

Details:
BARTON will be releasing their fourth single, Don’t Stop, on September 15, 2007. As with previous releases, Don’t Stop will be released on two CDs which will be sold separately. The first, identified as Don’t Stop: Light (NET009), contains the happier brighter mixes of the package, featuring a series of mixes from Josh Harris as well as BARTON’s club mix. The second CD, Don’t Stop: Dark (NET010) explores the darker, deeper, more mysterious side of the track, with entries by Jaimy, Manny Ward, Charlie X and an additional mix from BARTON. Like most BARTON compositions, Don’t Stop is a pop song at its core. The song explores the value of a deep and challenging emotional connection and is really a study on the importance of trust.

BARTON’s previous single, To Call My Own went to #1 on SIRIUS radio and #15 on Billboard, and was a hit in both the United States and throughout Europe. The video for To Call My Own is still playing on screens across the country.

BARTON continue the development of their unique sound with the release of Don’t Stop. BARTON’s vocals are distinctive and instantly recognizable, with a hint of an 80’s retro-feel, but their songwriting and production is decidedly forward-looking. As with previous releases, BARTON wrap their composition in a variety of remix styles, cutting a wide swath across the genres currently found in dance music, including electro , house, pop, progressive, and tribal.

Josh Harris’ mixes explore an amalgamation of pop, rock and electronic sensibilities while still carrying his signature beat, inventively mixing live guitar, electronic pulses and a distinctively electro-pop synth line. BARTON’s club mix takes a progressive route, starting with a minimal synth bass-line and building to an unstoppable big room club sound. Jaimy’s Club Mix is a dark, sexual and slightly menacing tour de force that matches the lowest registers of lead singer Barton’s vocals with a fierce tribal rhythm. The Manny vs. BARTON mix pits the veteran DJ’s renowned house sound against the more progressive influence of BARTON. In Manny’s Ode To Danny mix, Manny pays homage to his mentor Danny Tenaglia with a cacophony of percussive layers and detuned harmonics. BARTON’s Cessation Mix is a great blend of electro elements, new and vintage, with an unwavering pop sensibility. Charlie X’s Powerhouse Mix provides the DJ who spins at cruise bars with an intense hypnotic piece, heavily infused with industrial and electro elements.

BARTON have a meticulous approach to their production process, not just for their own mixes but inclusive of their remix partners as well. Vocals for each remixer have unique features; they are not simply reused across the various cuts, but are instead improvised and embellished on a per-mix basis by lead vocalist Barton with backup vocals by Charlie Rogers.

This song is the first that Barton and Charlie wrote together, and while it has seen a long road to its imminent release, BARTON believe that it will stand the test of time. They leave that up to you to judge for yourself, and hope that you enjoy the message, the journey, and what might end up being one of the hottest tracks out this fall.
