Details:
Award winning jazz guitarist Gerry Beaudoin was re-united for one night in 1996 with his original trio of Don Saviano on fretless electric bass and Grover Mooney on drums. This group was recorded live in front of a hometown audience at the Rendezvous Lounge in Waltham MA that Gerry and his trio had been playing at for years. Recorded direct to DAT this recording shows why this trio thrilled New England audiences for ten years before breaking up in 1990. This recording is a swinging, intense document of the the interaction and sensitivity of three very fine musicians.

A NOTE FROM GERRY BEAUDOIN: "This trio recording is one that I am most proud of. I have appeared on over 25 recordings in my career. Many of those have been as a leader. This is the only one that documents my original trio and was recorded ten years or so after we stopped playing together. I owe Don and Grover a great debt for showing me as a young musician the art of playing in the standard jazz guitar trio setting. Both Grover and Don are over a decade older than myself ( how many years I''m not saying ) and had played with some of my hero''s including jazz guitar greats ,Tal Farlow, Herb Ellis, Charlie Byrd and the late great Cal Collins. Don Saviano is one of the original up right bassists who made the switch to Fender electric bass in the late 1950''s and never looked back. A pioneer on electric jazz bass he is also a master of all kinds of music and was in the original Chris Duarte Blues Band in the late 1980''s and early 1990''s. Grover was the drummer in the original Cal Collins Trio with Michael Moore on bass. I can never thank Don and Grover for the confidence they had in me as a young musician to play in my trio. Please enjoy this recording as much as I do.
