MP3 Crash Carter - Red Buttons Blink

"Put Ben Folds, Stevie Wonder, Jason Mraz, Jamiroquai and Bill Withers in the same studio, let them jam a while, and they might just come up with a 14-track set as varied as this." Eric Boisson,https://www.tradebit.com, Lyon, France 10/16/05

The Purest of Pop...
"With bright lead vocals, sunny electric piano and smoothly percolating rhythms, San Diego County''s Crash Carter has the kind of immediately friendly pop-rock sound that once populated AM radio. Think the Zombies, Ace, Squeeze or Crowded House, but updated for contemporary ears.
Vocalist/keyboardist Casey Gee has a strong, soaring voice, not so different from that of Paul Carrack (Ace, Squeeze) or Neil Finn (Splint Enz, Crowded House). In fact, Crash Carter''s overall bubbling sound of pop purity draws much from Carrack''s and Finn''s respective bands. Drummer John Mears and bassist Jeff Bowman provide a constantly shifting, consistently intriguing backdrop for Gee''s voice and keys.
Best of all, the band manages to turn out the same kind of interesting, well-crafted pop songs the above comparisons practically demand. If d.j.s still picked their own playlists, cuts like "Jungle," "Tidal Waves" and "Unreal" would be getting picked up by Casey Kasem Saturday morning.
Those days are gone - or least in remission - and so whether Crash Carter is able to find the national audience they deserve remains to be seen. In the meantime, those of us in San Diego have something very special to savor."

Crash Carter Cranks it Up -
"We''ve discovered the next best thing to Jason Mraz. Not only are we here for Jason Mraz now but we are here for this band as well, only we just realized it. The group goes by the name Crash Carter and they could very well be absolutely amazing. Sitting in front of the stage I am taken aback by the incredible melodies and voice pulsing through the racetrack. This is the hip new North County band that I could catch even my dad saying "I dig it "."
Review of Crash Carter''s performance at Festival Del Mar 2005 by Amanda Andreen -Surf City Times Encinitas, Ca. April 30-2005

Jeff Bowman - Bass Guitar,
Casey Gee - Keys, Guitar & Vocals
John Mears - Drums & Percussion

Crash Carter, formed in the winter of 2004, is based in the Carlsbad/Encinitas area of Southern California.
The group is a keyboard driven trio that mixes its pop rock with heavy influences of jazz, R&B, soul,
reggae & hip-hop. When Drummer John Mears & Bassist Jeff Bowman combine with Casey Gee on his soaring vocals & electro-mechanical keys or piano... Crash Carter''s takes an amazing retro vibe and yet creates its own totally original modern sound. Comparisons and Influences range from the following: Sting meets Steely Dan...Jason Mraz meets Stevie Wonder... Lenny Kravitz ... Maroon 5...Greyboy...Ben Folds...Cold Play...
