First of all giving all praises to God for allowing us to finally complete this project.
The Divine Messengers presently consist of three brothers and a sister that have been singing since childhood. The group formed in the late sixties as the Twilight Gospel Singers just south of Chicago Illinois. The inspirations was from the parents James and Adele Hampton who sang in their own group. It was always a dream of the elder Hamptons to one day record however life never permitted that opportunity to them therefore it is the belief of the Messengers that they are an extension of that dream and desire.
Down through the years the Messengers have been blessed to appear with many groups and choirs from all over the US To name a few The Staples, Supreme Angels, Mighty Clouds, Clarence Fountain, Jubes, Five Blind Boys of Alabama, Swan Silvertones and many more.
The style of the Messengers is a mix of traditional Gospel, with a flare of R&B.
The aspirations of the group hinges on the love of the parents and being able to share the love and hope bred in them from Motherdear and Daddy to those who have never had that kind of love as well as use the talents God gave to lift spirits a bring joy.
