"Technically speaking, division by zero is not impossible; rather, it is contradictory to assumption. As such, we disallow it as a valid operation on numbers. ''Physically impossible'' is a more fitting description of a phenomenon, such as the creation of a perpetual motion machine, or the decrease in entropy of a closed system. Division by zero is not so much a phenomenon as it is a supposed construction, which is provably contradictory to a given set and therefore not permitted within the system upon which the rules are imposed." -Doctor Pete
Division by zero is not impossible; it is just contradictory to a given set of rules and therefore not permitted within the system upon which those rules are imposed. That''s how founding members Coop (drums) and Dan (guitar) felt when they began writing songs that defied any sort of traditional songwriting, breaking free of the monoculture that is modern rock. With influences like 311, System Of A Down, Bob Marley, Mr. Bungle, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, and some old Incubus, the two began combining just about everything they listened to; mixing thrash metal with jazz chords, throwing double-bass over a reggae feel. Just after the two decided they''d had enough with school and studying music, they met up with jazz vocalist Zoe. Whoda thunkit? Now her voice floats through reggae verses and metal bridges without batting an eye. As the newest member of the band, Jeff''s funky ass bass lines topped off the unique mix of reggae-metal and brought the band to its current form. Impossible? We like to think of it as yet to be revealed.
