Details:
A lively and eclectic Sydney-based 5-piece from the Northern Beaches, Nardo blends rootsy rock and subtle pop to create their own distinctive Nardo sound. Both in the studio and on the stage, Nardo exudes a warm electric energy with soaring melodies and walls of harmony, at times peeling back to beautiful acoustic melancholy and moments of reflection through powerful lyrics. Having been influenced by a number of artists, Nardo constructs a diverse palette which is the cause for such originality, and from which so many of their written pieces have received their colour.

Nardo have managed to record and produce their forth-coming and full-length debut album “When the Morning Comes”. Recording over two years at 301 Studios in Byron Bay has given the feature a warmth and sophistication that rises above the average ‘indie debut’. Time and intelligent production has helped to capture dynamically rich songs which will ring in your ears days after a single hearing, as well as being complex enough to find new substance after several listens.

Nardo bely any preconceptions the term ''singer songwriter'' conjures up in most minds … Diversity is the key.
- Drum Media

Nardo have their act together - they know who they are, what they''re doing and how to do it. The boys are good: great players with nice production.
- The Brag

A very distinctive and funky style, their mellow songs are very melodic, sweet and beautiful, but their louder songs simply rock!
- Chik Magazine

…impressive and memorable … The song writing, lyrics, and music were enthusiastic, appealing, and emotional, conveying opinionated messages around relationships, politics, and the environment… good musicians and great potential as a band
- The Metro Gnome

After launching their debut EP ‘No Sale’ (2005 MGM) to a packed audience in Sydney at The Basement, Nardo have managed to conjure crowds and listeners, headlining and selling out venues (The Basement, The Vanguard, The Brass Monkey, Manly Fishos, Caringbah Bizzos, The Zoo, The Alley) and have been invited to perform at a variety of festivals (The Great Escape, Peats Ridge, Woodstock (Qld), Shoreshocked), building a solid fan base across the east coast of Australia. Despite the name, ‘No Sale’ attracted modest success, gaining local and national radio play, as well as international exposure courtesy of DVD appearances with Australian Surfing Life, Tracks and Chik Magazine, commercially screened on MTV and MTV Asia.

Currently Nardo is a self-managed group and have remained independent over the three years they have been together. Always individually looking in the same direction and sustaining a solid professional approach, they are ready for new obstacles and challenges to take them further into the industry. Nardo are singer/guitarist Sam Nardo, Andy Scott on lead guitars, Ev Browett on drums/percussion and Stevie B on bass with new addition Dave Stabback on keys.
