Cyclones is a Chicago power-pop trio.
After playing in several bands (Throck Morton, Stretch Velvet) throughout the 90''s, Steve Gatland formed Cyclones in 2000 as a way to create the straight-ahead guitar power pop made famous by bands like the Replacements, Plimsouls, Material Issue, Guided By Voices, even the Descendents.
Fans say the combination of vocal hooks, locked-in back beat, and over-driven guitar distance Cyclones from the bubble gum pop on the radio today.
