David Reiser is an original Tally Boy. Born and bred in Tallahassee, FL, David grew up with Boyz II Men, Bell Biv Devoe, Snoop Doggy Dogg, and other R&B/Rap godfathers playing in his bedroom tapedeck. David’s parents were old school aficionados of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Harry Chapin, and the entire American Musical Theatre catalog. As David got hip to be a square in college he found musical and lyrical inspiration from such greats as Ben Folds, David Wilcox, Martin Sexton, and Jason Mraz – thus rounding out David’s musical initiation in story, style, variety, and melody.
After living up a dopalicious childhood and graduating from The University of Michigan, David moved to New York City where David’s life and work continued to be influenced by warm and wise people, eager to share their lifestories and their lives.
David recorded Storytellers Ball, his first full length original record, in the autumn of 2004. Jam packed with 14 original songs ranging in style from acoustic storytelling to hip-hop lifeisforliving to rock climacticmomentgiving, Storytellers Ball is sure to please your ear and squeeze your fears.
In the winter of the 2004 David began starring in the new Broadway Beach Boys musical, GOOD VIBRATIONS. With Storytellers Ball in his back pocket and GOOD VIBRATIONS delighting audiences on Broadway, David feels mighty fine and most fortunate to be in the dreamlike place that he is in.
