ROCK: Roots Rock, EASY LISTENING: Mature

Details:
Dawn Jackson grew up in Nashville, trying to pluck melodies on the guitars hanging in her grandfather''s shop on Broadway. She later named her record label after that guitar shop and in October 2002, released her debut album on Sho-Bud Music, recorded and co-produced with San Diego-based band Hatfield Rain. The country-pop CD, "Matter of Time" received significant airplay along the California coast with songs "Reflection of You", "Radio Girl" and "I Mean Well".

Dawn ventured out on a solo tour in 2003, extending her fan base from Southern California through the Rockies to the Southeast. The warm reception from existing and new fans encouraged her to do a solo project which took on the form of an acoustic-driven record crossing the genres of pop, roots-rock, & country. All of the songs on the album, "Inside Out", were written and produced by Dawn.

A deep, smooth sound with a touch of a twang, Jackson''s vocal style is a cross between the Cowboy Junkies'' Margo Timmins, Lucinda Williams and Stevie Nicks. She is often referred to as a female Chris Isaak. Her songwriting combines traditional-country, pop, folk and bluesy-jazz.

Dawn currently writes with and for artists in both Nashville and Los Angeles. Her publishing company, Sho-Bud Music, is entering into a deal with Windswept Pacific on behalf of one of her up and coming writer/artists, Ken Johnson.
