Hailing from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, MUNROE has been capturing the hearts and minds of countless fans across the country with their powerful music and explosive live show. Formed in the late months of 2004, the ground work of the band was put together by two friends since grade school. "Scot and I have known each other since third or fourth grade." says drummer Jeremy Feinberg." In playing together Jeremy and Scot shared the same views, musical passion and even inside jokes. "It''s more fun to work with people you know," adds singer/guitarist Scot Howat. They continued to play and write with Scot on guitar and vocals and Jeremy on drums, but there was still a huge void to be filled. "We wanted to be heavy AND tasteful, but we had no balls without any bass," says Scot. The perfect match came after several long months of unsuccessful try-outs and contacts in the form of Chris Haan in August of 2007. "We knew Chris from his band SLIVER. And we were lucky he wanted to dry bass out," says Jeremy. "As chance as it was, it couldn''t have worked out better. "It''s hard enough walking into a room with two guys you dont'' know that well, but the fact that they had been friends for so long made it even more intimidating," adds Chris. "They were very open and receptive to me and now I don''t feel like an outsider anymore." As the bonds between the band became stronger, so did their songwriting. They have a unique blend of crushing guitars, thunderous bass and pummeling drums, with vocal melodies delicately placed over the top. "We want songs everyone can get something from." With pristine clean parts flowing through heavy guitar riffs, there is something for everyone. "We learned to write for the song, not for ourselves. Half of writing a good song is knowing what NOT to play. Trimming the fat, making it flow...that''s what we''re about." And they began playing shows in April of 2005. MUNROE is quickly becoming a crowd favorite as they pour out their hearts on stage. This is a band to watch in the years to come.
