(local) Dan Dawson is known for playing center for the boy''s varsity basketball team at Glenbrook North High School, while Peter Cho is known for nothing really. The two started playing music in the second grade. In fact, both were in the same alt/metal band from the 7th grade till freshmen year. Now, Peter and Dan are young producers, still not out of high school. The two plan to release their first album together, ''The Session''. It''s eight months of hard work, with all the music being made using school equipment.
"Dan and I have completely different styles, but somehow we smooth things out and make our music flow together. What''s different about us compared to other hip hop producers is that we follow the rock music structure. The structuring is different. It allows us to be more creative." -Peter
By the end of April 2004, Peter had finished over forty instrumentals, mostly due to ditching class, working on songs after school for hours, but it showed that he had the desire to write and make music. Dan struggled to find time to make his songs, being on the varsity basketball team killed his schedule, but what he lacked in his time, he made up in creativity.
With their debut album, ''The Session'' the two are looking for talented rappers (signed or not) to rap over their music for a future album with vocal production. Influences are Dr. Dre, Organized Noize, Outkast, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Warren G, Eminem, 50cent & G-Unit, Ice Cube, Twista, Kanye West, and much more. The two also listen to diverse styles of music, from Alice in Chains, dredg, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Korn, Meshugah, Metallica, Apples in Stereo, Far, Onelinedrawing, Codeseven, Beck, Tool, Flaming Lips, Sigur Ros, DJ Shadow, Badly Drawn Boy, the list goes on and on...
