Dizzy X''s high octane takeoff uses no formulas at all. Instead they offer a blend abilities, styles and enthusiasms uniquely adapted to themselves on their debut album "Tales From the Iron Pillow". These songs, released in January 2005 on their own Los Angeles based label DZX Records, are the by-product of bouts of extreme insomnia that Lizzy and Dante both experience, thus the definition: "Iron Pillow".
"The end of 2003 was an intense and emotional time for us" says Dante, speaking of his younger brother and drummer Matthew''s untimely death by an overdose of methamphetamine and heroin. " We really needed to purge out the tremendous shock, sadness and anger and write this music!"... As Lizzy, who co-writes the songs and sings on some says, "It was a dual catharsis that created this record... these songs BECAME our therapy, but I really think we both have our own love-hate relationships with each individual track".
The result is an engaging and emotionally charged debut full of attitude, soul and sweetness....from the "Prince on anabolic steroids" opening track of ''SupaSaturation'' to the heartfelt pleading and beauty of Constantine''s vocals on the immediate hit-like single ''Show Me'', Dizzy X seems to do what is next to impossible these days... creating their own genre, which they themselves call "Cinematic soul".
With influences ranging from Sly Stone and Massive Attack to Kate Bush and Anhauser Busch, this Los Angeles based duo is poised for success and a bit of excess!
Dante - has performed and recorded with Slash, Chaka Kahn, Andy Summers(The Police), Pancho Sanchez and film composer Trevor Rabin(formerly of Yes). He can also be heard on your television voicing commercials for Nissan, McDonalds, Hieneken and Ebay!
Lizzy - as a singer has toured with Mick Jagger to promote his " Wandering Spirit" album. She can also be heard singing on albums ranging from Oscar nominated film composer Danny Elfman to dueting with Janes Addiction''s Perry Farrell on the Sony release of "The Prayer Cycle". Lizzy is a featured vocalist throughout Tricky''s (formerly of Massive Attack) upcoming album as well!
