Details:
Douglas Joe Rommereim was born in south Dakota in 1949. The son of a Lutheran minister, he moved to southern California in the middle fifties, and grew up among the surfers and hippies that generally congregate there. High school happened in the bay area. Being 7 miles from Berkeley in 1967 was a dangerous thing. Suggested reading would be the Electric Kool-Aid Acid test, and A Long Strange Trip.
His early years as a musician took place in Southern California. He was in a band called Fresh Air, and did an album for Columbia records. It kinda stunk. After being taken for a ride by half of the producers and managers in Southern California, Doug moved to Whitefish, Montana. Here, he found solace, raised a family, and started a business. He now owns the Great Northern Bar in downtown Whitefish. If you are ever in the neighborhood, please do yourself a favor and visit us. This is one rocking joint. Bruce Springsteen has been known to even jump on stage occasionally. Live rock and roll 4 nights a week, and lots of other types of music also.
Doug still plays music, and has recently released a cd entitled "Adrift". Lots of different styles make up this collection. From irish to jazz, I think you will enjoy Doug''s music. And if you are ever in Whitefish, stop by the bar, and ask for Doug. He might buy you a beer. Might not, just depends.
