Details:
Debbie has been singing since she learned to talk. One of seven children, she grew up learning to harmonize along with her brothers and sisters while her mother sang and played guitar. Her mother and twin sister had been live radio singers/entertainers during the 1930''s and 1940''s before recorded music became the preferred medium for radio broadcasting. Debbie was fascinated by her mother''s musical background and grew up imagining herself as a professional singer just like her mom. She and her brother, who worked for several years as a disc jockey, used to spend hours playing "radio station."

Throughout her childhood and teenage years, Debbie sang in talent shows and school concerts. She learned to play the piano and the guitar and spent many hours singing and writing songs. She participated in school choral groups and her church choir. Music was always a major part of her life.

When Debbie was seventeen, her father passed away. She found it easiest to cope with the loss of her father through her music, so she wrote a song for him entitled "Daddy''s Little Girl." With this song and several other songs that she had written, she and her mother and her aunt headed for Nashville. Debbie was nineteen when she recorded her first country album, "Lucky Chicago," released on the Cherish record label. The album included several songs by other writers as well as some of Debbie''s original songs. To promote her album, Debbie put together her own band and spent a few years traveling and playing clubs and fairs. During this time, she opened concerts for Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams Jr. as well as for Hank Snow and for T.G. Shepard.

After being on the road for a time, Debbie became disillusioned with the competitiveness of the recording business and decided to go back to college. She completed her master''s degree in business, then met and married her husband with whom she has raised four children. Throughout her child rearing years, she maintained her love for music and chose to volunteer her services to her church. As a Sunday soloist and congregational song leader, she became more and more appreciative of Christian music. She once again began to write songs, but this time she found that she was inspired to express herself in a much more spiritual way.

Debbie''s new CD release, "According To Thy Will," is a collection of eleven songs which she refers to as her "songs of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving." These songs are sung from the heart and are truly inspirational and uplifting.
