Details:
"Over Hill and Valley" is the first collaborative recording project for Christopher and David who have been great friends and performing together since meeting at the Memorial University School of Music in 2004 as students of the School''s Master of Music program. They are especially pleased to be nominated by MUSICNL as 2007 Classical Artists of the Year for "Over Hill and Valley." David and Christopher are planning a tour of the Atlantic Provinces in 2008.

Christopher Bowman received his Master of Music degree from Memorial University and his Bachelor of Music degree from Mount Allison University. Some of his performances include solo recitals in Ontario and Atlantic Canada, Handel''s "Messiah" with Symphony New Brunswick and the Cantabile Singers of Truro, and tours with the Ontario Youth Choir, Nova Scotia Youth Choir, and the National Youth Choir of Canada, the latter of which he will serve as Co-ordinator in 2008. He currently resides in Truro, Nova Scotia where he is organist and director of music at First United Church. Christopher is an aficionado of barbershop music and is the director of the Truro Novatones Chorus. He has also directed other barbershop choruses in Ontario and Newfoundland. While "Over Hill and Valley" marks Christopher''s first full-length recording, he has recorded “For the Beauty of the Earth” on David Chafe''s new release of Christian songs, "Bright and Beautiful." Christopher has been a sessional instructor with both Memorial University and Mount Allison University. He maintains a busy voice and piano studio, and is sought after as a clinician. Upcoming solo performances this season include Handel''s "Messiah" with the Bedford Singers, as well as a springtime engagement with the Cantabile Singers of Truro. He looks forward to touring "Over Hill and Valley" in the Maritimes and Ontario with David Chafe in the near future.

David Chafe earned his music degrees from Memorial University in 2002 (Bachelor of Music, Honours) and 2004 (Master of Music). David''s first CD was his 2006 solo piano release, "It Is Well," which earned him recognition by the Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador as Gospel Artist of the Year. His follow-up CD, "Bright and Beautiful" has been recently released featuring David on piano with new arrangements and renditions of well-loved hymns accompanied by several of his musical friends. David is co-founder, manager, accompanist and singer with the Newman Sound men''s choir and the founding accompanist of the Lady Cove women''s choir. Both Newman Sound and Lady Cove were top winners in the 2006 national CBC Choral Competition. David is also assistant accompanist for the internationally-renowned youth choir, Shallaway. His playing can be heard on Lady Cove''s self-titled CD, on two Cantus Vocum chamber choir CD''s (Choral Voyages and Cantus Vocum Christmas) and on the award-winning Bound For That City by the St. John''s gospel group, Celebration. In November 2007, he and singer Andrew Dale will release "Midnight Clear," their new CD of sacred Christmas music. In addition to serving as accompanist for several Memorial University students and professional artists, David is a member of the praise band, Foundation, maintains a busy private piano studio and is an instructor at the Memorial University School of Music.
