After recording and performing with over a dozen groups on the Lower East Side including Kid Congo Powers, Knoxville Girls, King''s County Queens and Douce Gimlet, Jerome O''Brien had met enough musicians to start The Dog Show.
The release of "demo" was a tongue in cheek move- releasing the same songs to fans at shows that were being released to industry professionals as a demo. A "non-album" of sorts. What wasn''t expected was the acceptance of "demo" by such ultra-hip Lower East Side hotspots as Max Fish on NYC''s trendy Ludlow Street where the "non-album" was on frequent rotation.
