2007’s Viva La Juerga is Diego’s Umbrella’s most anticipated studio effort to date. The record features a dozen catchy, crafty, and especially fun tunes that highlight the songwriters’ changing influences and distinct ability to meld a myriad of exotic styles with a pop sensibility that is accessible to the masses. Viva La Juerga features Diego’s Umbrella’s somewhat revamped lineup, including the addition of a full-time violinist/accordion player and a hard-hitting, “in-the-pocket” drummer to compliment the solid trio of strings that can be heard on prior releases.
