Ric E Bluez was born on November 28, 1969 in Mississippi. To most people Ric is quiet, easy going and very shy. This is the opinion of people that actually don''t know the transformation that takes place when Ric E Bluez hits the stage. There''s just something about the stage and the spotlights that takes him to a new level. According to some people, the blues is considered to be depressing and completely out of date. In reality, this form of art is the foundation of most music. In Ric''s opinion, "blues is part of the main stream, along with country, rhythm and blues, hip hop and jazz." In his opinion, the blues industry simply lacks an innovative artist who is willing to break new ground with an old art form. There is no need to let this special form of art die because it has multitudes of supporters that still come out to hear and dance to this warm and familiar sound that they can relate to.
Ric is an extremely spiritual person raised in the church and has strong beliefs in God. If you mix blues with contemporary gospel and a pinch of rhythm and blues and then season it with a little fun, you have a recipe for the Ric E Bluez Show. Ric has created a sound that is original and far from depressing. His music has rhythm and blues and is very appealing in a crossover market. His handsome youthful look has helped to create a new generation of blues followers and has even brought other youth artist back to reality with regards to understanding where the music of today actually derived from. Most people believe that you have to be old and down on your luck before you can start singing the blues or at least most people wait until they reach this point before undertaking a career in the blues industry. The blues today is typically performed by older artists, with older followers. This thought would leave the younger generation of today to focus their attention on the young rappers with the violent lyrics of the secular world. Ric''s smooth and creative style of music bridges the gap between young and old. The art of Ric''s blues has been rejuvenated in order to reach mass audiences, making it part of the mainstream. Ric has performed on a variety of platforms and has graced the stage with many legendary acts such as Les McCain and Roy Ayers. He has also performed with other great Soul and Blues artist such as, Mel Waiters, Bobby Rush, Marvin Sease, Lenny Williams, Carl Marshall, Theodis Ealey, Denise LaSalle, and Archie Bell just to name a few. Ric is now currently working on a national promotional tour for 2008, promoting The Sexy Soul Album.
