Details:
On a cold morning in February, 2006, Ed Cunningham and Seth Gordon, the producers of the movie,” The King of Kong,” and my old friend Walter Day, internationally renown “Scorekeeper/Referee” for the video game industry, invited me to come to Walter’s house in Fairfield, IA to do a shoot. A few months before, to Walter’s prompting, I had written a song for Walter’s website, Twin Galaxies, which we were going to put up on the site. The song was about Billy Mitchell, the “Video Game Wizard,” who had rung up the highest score in Donkey Kong and played a perfect game on Pac Man. Billy Mitchell was to be a major character in the movie.
Ed and Seth shot my playing “Video Game Wizard - Billy Mitchell” and it ended up in their movie, “The King of Kong,” which played to outstanding reviews in theaters in 2007 and will be released on DVD and in the stores January 28, 2008.
By the way, the "haunting lead guitar melodies were performed by Robert Palma with his darling Taylor guitar." The additional vocals (also on the long version) - Deena Thiel.
