"Drop Zone" is a Hip Hop Group formed in 2003. Drop Zone consists of five members: Front Man, "Frantik" Vocals, "Natural Urb" on Vocals, "Kush" on Drums and Percussions, "DJ A.C. ACE" on Scratches and Back Up Vocals, and Juan Antonio Tapia Back Up Vocals. The artistic style of Drop Zone is a mixture of elements: funky guitar lines, heavy grooving bass lines, spacy synthesizing sounds, and catchy dual hooks with the rawness that makes Hip Hop what it is. It will fire at you concepts most artists refuse to touch. Its flow and the live percussive instrumentation create an auditory feast that separates Drop Zone from the rest. Drop Zone is energetic frantic Hip Hop that grasps the experiences of urban living.
Individual Bio''s:
Frankie Espinoza A.k.a. "Frantik", I started experimenting with music at the age of 3, my dad would make me sing songs for the family. I would see him record on a reel to reel recorder, doing recordings of himself on guitar and the keys. He has been my biggest influence and inspiration.
Arcenio Campos A.k.a. "DJ AC -ACE", I was raised in South Central L.A. on 22nd Street and primarily influenced by the original KDAY. Hip Hop and Rapp had more impact on me because that was predominately the environment we lived in. Music first caught my eye around the 7th grade but took it a little more serious around the 11th grade when I got my first set of turntables. I started doing parties and just being involved in the scene to get my feet wet. Later I started doing gigs with Dave Jams now know as David Rolas.
Martin Alvarado A.K.A. "Kush", I started playing drums at the age of 14 and started a punk band with my older brother over in the Montecito Heights area of LA. Since I''ve played with several underground groups and have made drumming my passion. There were numerous projects I''ve done which have been influenced by groups such as Santana, Tito Puente, Malo, Tierra, Tower of Power, and some underground hardcore groups.
Oswaldo Villanueva A.k.a. "Natural Urb", I started getting involved with Hip Hop in 1993 with a friend and it was just free-styling for fun on 14th and Valencia in Downtown LA. Then I got into break-dancing with a crew named Ruthless. The Urban Culture has always been my environment. Slowly it evolved into rhyming with friends on a more serious tip.
Juan Antonio Tapia A.k.a. "Mexus" started singing corridos at a very early age. I love music that has substance!!
