"Please remain seated, fasten your seat belts........." and suddenly....... GO! This is pretty much what we do when we get into an aeroplane in order to fly somewhere. In the same fashion (I recommend), I encourage you to do the same when you listen to Dragon Rapide, at least the first time, because its music is so much hard driven-straightforward rock and insightful at the same time, that it will be good to take some precautions for those who are not ready to hear no-bullmake rock and roll, which thankfully is the gas used to make this plane took off and, fortunelly for us, keep it in the air.
Julio Pacheco, the mastermind behind this project, isn''t a rookie in the music business and you can notice it in "Some Planes Should Never Have Take Off". His punk and heavy background (mostly punk) enriched with previous musical adventures, leaves an uneraseable trademark in one and every piece of the album, even in "Samuel Is Sleeping", a tender and heartfelted message for his son. "Just Email Me," the first track, and no better piece to start with, could be the song that any dragster driver would like to listen to while is waiting to press the pedal to the metal, you know; just to warm up before the race..... Another mention has to be made on "The Muslim Menace," a way-too-real truth that describes pretty well what''s going on in the world and what we see on our Tv''s nowadays.
Let me give you an idea and try to describe the sound of "Some Planes Should Never Have Take Off" (and I love doing this...): if for some weird (but very interesting) reason Marilyn Manson, The Sex Pistols and Sisters of Mercy got together to see what they can do in terms of music as a whole, probably the result would be somehow like Dragon Rapide: deep, rabish and sincere. Once having said this, is time to get some beer and beernuts and get ready to enjoy the flight, it''s gonna be bumpy but fun, and I''m sure that you''ll flight with Dragon Rapide again.
