Details:
The Yakima 2 is made up of a couple of musicians who have been around for a long time. Mike Walter has been playing music for 51 years and Dan Bardes has been playing Guitar for 61 years. Both of these guys have been around the block. Mike Walter played in Rock bands for 25 years and then started his own recording studio (Mike Recording) in 1985 and also established his own Publishing Company (Rainbow Express Publishing). Mike started writing songs in 1964 after experiencing 13 months in the Vietnam War. Mike has written over 300 songs, and recorded 11 albums. But it wasn’t until he met Dan Bardes, that it all started coming together. The “Trees Of Fire” project has been a new horizon for both of these talented musicians. Dan Bardes started playing guitar at the age 11. Three years of formal lessons starting from 1946-1949. He developed a guitar style from two great guitar players of the time, Les Paul & Chet Atkins. From 1956-1965 he played six & seven nights a week at the most popular night clubs and dance taverns in the Northwest area. He played week-ends for 30 years from 1966-1996. From 1996-2007 he performed as a studio musician. As a independent guitarist he played with many of the top bands in the area. Dan was inspired to write for the first time in his life (the 5 songs on “Trees Of Fire”). Mike puts together the drums, bass, keyboards and vocals, and Dan lays down the guitar tracks. Dan Bardes has a unique guitar style that totally influences the vocal style of Mike Walter. It’s a pretty amazing mix.

The "Trees Of Fire" CD is an inspiration from writer, Mike Walter, to write about an environmental issue
called "Global Warming" It is the song from the title of the CD. The rest is an influence from the original Rock N Roll era. It was called the Fabulous Fifties. You can hear the unique guitar style of Scottie Moore, who backed Elvis, and Duane Eddy, and Bill Black, and then throw in Les Paul. Great musicianship combined with great vocals is what makes the "Trees Of Fire" CD.
