Alex Basile is a singer-songwriter who has been a part of the New York music scene for over twenty five years. He is the lead singer of the popular group The Irish Mist.
Crying Up In Kerry is his solo debut album that features many songs written by Alex Basile. The album includes contributions from The Irish Mist members Ronnie D''Addario and Michael Groarke. Joannie Madden, the leader of Cherish The Ladies, adds tin whistle and flute to "Lay Down Beside Me" and "The Water Is Wide". Jimmy Lavin plays accordion
on the title track "Crying Up In Kerry" and the Irish favorite, "The Galway Shawl".
