Jimmy Elcock: Short Biography

Born in Rockville Centre, New York, and raised just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, Jimmy has been interested in music for his entire life. Sparked by his grandmother’s blues-piano playing at an early age, Jimmy studied the piano intermittently since age 10, and picked up the drums at age 13.

Studying Jazz at the New England Conservatory of Music for five years, Jimmy studies Jazz piano with Eryan Katsenelenbogen, and Jazz drum set with Gary Fieldman. He has also studied/played with Jeremy Udden, Rick McLaughlin, Adam Larrabee, Bo Winiker, David McTiernan, Oliver Watkinson, Dan Glaude, Dave Neves and many more. Jimmy is also currently studying with drummer Kenwood Dennard of the Berklee College of Music.

Eyran Katsenelenbogen: Short Biography

Innovative and acclaimed improvisational artist Eyran Katsenelenbogen is continuing his worldwide touring with an exciting 2007-8 concert seasons. Recently, Eyran played eight sold out concerts to standing ovations in Germany with Russian classical pianist Andrei Ivanovitch. In these concerts, Eyran presented his improvisations on the various movements of Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” which was performed by Mr. Ivanovitch. Eyran’s past tours include concerts and recordings in England, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Israel, Canada and the US. His jazz solo piano concerts have been enthusiastically received around the world, in venues such as Saint Joseph Theater in Scarborough, England; Bechstein Centrum in Hamburg; Teatro di Marcello in Rome, the Tel-Aviv Jazz Festival, and Boston''s Jordan Hall. Recipient of the ASCAP Plus Award for the years 2002 – 2006, Eyran holds a faculty position at New England Conservatory in Boston and has pioneered techniques for teaching contemporary music performance to children with special needs. Cadence magazine has glowingly reviewed his recordings: "…his playing…is at times introspective, at times explosive, but at all times dynamic and challenging…."
