Imagine largely-improvised instrumental rock and rock/jazz guitar solos that could soundtrack a movie, and you understand what this album is all about. It''s beyond cranking on a whammy bar to play yet another non-descript super heavy metal lead (hey, nothing wrong with any of that, but...).
For example, in High Noon / The Showdown you can almost picture a gunslinger sitting in a saloon, nerves on edge, doing his last shot of whiskey before the clock strikes 12- then the jingle of spurs as he marches out to the street, where somebody will meet his Maker- all to a searing guitar solo.
New Sheriff in Town, about a tall-walking, whiskey-drinking lawman, rounds out this opening old-west mini-theme.
A couple edgy rock/jazz tracks follow that could soundtrack an undercover cop movie.
And, there’s enough chaos in Formation to conjure up images of the oceans coming together and the mountains rising out of the sea.
Throw in a little soft-rock guitar, and unique multi-string guitar leads, and the result is truly something different.
