A CLOUD IN THE SKY
This CD is a tribute to my love, my best friend and my partner, Roland Fabbrie who passed away on October 3, 2007. The song A Cloud In The Sky is written by me, Linda Herman after Roland’s death. Death affects people many different ways. For me, it inspired me one morning at 2AM. The words to this song were running through my head and would not leave. So I got up and wrote them down. Some days later I put music to the words and that is how A Cloud In The Sky came about. I hope you will enjoy it. It is sad yet comforting. Thank-you.
DANCETIME WITH LINDA & ROLAND continues as Dancetime With Linda. I still play music for ballroom dancing throughout the Los Angeles area. My “ballroom dance family” are a great comfort to me. My job is to entertain and it gives me a great deal of pleasure. I enjoy my Roland accordion. It is the latest greatest electronic accordion introduced by the Roland Corp a few years ago. Yes you are listening to an ACCORDION. I know, play accordion, go to jail. Ah but in the age of electronics and midi, an accordion can be a “secret weapon”. Yes that is me singing. My voice has been described as “sultry”. I suppose that is true.
This CD is one of many I, (we), have recorded. I (we) have 5 cd’s with CDBABY. All are great for ballroom dancing or easy listening. Ballroom dance music is what I specialize in. You will find foxtrot, waltz, swing, cha cha cha, rhumba, tango, sambo, Viennese Waltz, mambo, polka, country and even line dances. Ballroom dancing is alive. It is a great form of exercise. Granted most of my clientele are over 60 years of age. Hey we are all headed to that age, we hope. Check out my Christmas CD with CDBABY.
I am from Eastern Iowa originally, (Solon). Population well maybe 1000. It is near Iowa City, go Hawks. Yeah, I’m a farm girl and proud of it. Moved to the Los Angeles area in 1984. The move has proved to be the right thing for me. Music is my passion and golf is my favorite hobby. Love living in the Seal Beach area, Leisure World. Thanks for reading this if you got this far.
