Details:
Mel Bell-Grey''s acoustic soul / Funky R&B sound, featuring meledelicious beats of moving rhythms intertwined with intricate harmonies, makes for more than just catchy tunes. The passionate hopes and dreams portrayed in his poetic songs have uplifted audiences worldwide. Mel''s voice and vocal arrangements are truly outstanding and unique. You can feel and experience the passion and love that Mel brings to his music. Inspired by Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Prince, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, and Tchaikovsky to name but a few, Mel''s original mixture of lyrics, rhythms and acoustic guitar creates a potent blend of soulful beats and melodies.

Mel is for all of us who are seeking happiness and trying to make sense of the world. His musical prayers of symbolic gospel will chase your blues away and leave you in a mood of tranquility and wonder at the splendor of life. Mel''s empathic cry for sufferers and calls for love and transformation of society send a message of positivism and renewal.

Mel has been active in bringing music to the world throughout his career. After making his start as the lead vocalist for the band Zimico, based in his home town of London, England, Mel was discovered by actor and writer John Davies, who was organizing the first Arts Convoy to then war-torn Bosnia in 1996. As an offshoot of this tour, Mel toured Europe with performances in France, Germany, Belgium, and Austria. During the 1990''s Mel was featured regularly at the Rock Gardens and the Acoustic Cafe in Soho, London.

In 2001, Mel was one of the first performers at the now historic EXIT Noise Summer Fest, in Novi Sad, Serbia, playing to a crowd of twenty five thousand as part of a slate of performers including: Anastasia, Finley Quaye, Van Gogh, Roni Sise, Max Romeo, Kosheen, Toni Allen, 4Hero and Dennise Alcopone.

More recently Mel has been invited to perform for several years running in the Caribbean, including venues in Bermuda, Jamaica, and St. Lucia, and in Europe. In September 2006 Mel was invited to produce his first music video in St Lucia, in collaboration with director and producer Chris Wagstaff of Creative Junction (St. Lucia) Ltd. This project is scheduled for completion in December 2006.

Over the past five years, Mel has also concentrated on recording albums at his Hawaii studio, working with Emmy award-winning artist Eddy Free (for a list of Mel''s albums, please visit his website, https://www.tradebit.com). In 2005 and 2006, Mel released his latest albums "Infinity" and "The Place 2 Be," and has also played regularly at venues throughout his home in Hawaii. These ventures have generated numerous positive reviews. Mel''s most recent album is scheduled for release in early 2007.

Songwriting is a key aspect of Mel''s artistic life. In 2005 Mel released a fully illustrated lyric book including 80 of his original songs, which represents a portion of his extensive catalog of songs. This project grew from a collaboration between award-winning designer/illustrator William Britt and photographer Gelston Dwight, with whom Mel has worked extensively over the past five years.

In the works is Mel''s new video, scheduled for international release in 2007 on the new "Tempo" network (launched in 2005 by MTV in partnership with Cable & Wireless), as well as his latest album, featuring an acoustic flavor.
