Details:
Mr Richard’s third album of whimsical musings for dancing kids and hip parents has songs that swirl in a salad mix of styles. “Some of my favorite records are the ones that surprise you with each tune,” says Richard, “like the White Album, Physical Graffiti, and The Replacements’ Hootenanny...and Queen were masters of that!” Polka Dot Puzzle features back-porch folk, ringing pop-rock, stomping klezmer, sunny calypso, New Orleans-style funk and Creedence-thumping swamp rock, all making up the pieces of this musical puzzle.
Richard created Polka Dot Puzzle with longtime musical cohorts Matt McWhirter and Brandon Bingham, and Lunch Money’s Molly Ledford lends her lovely voice to the soaring “Butterfly Day”. The horn-driven “Bubble Bath” will have you dancing in the tub, “Treehouse” will send you out for scrap lumber, and “Pots N’ Pans” will reduce your kitchen to rubble!
The Orlando Sentinel calls Mr Richard “music to our ears” and Zooglobble says Richard’s “got a sly ear for kids’ (and parental) frustrations especially”. Hear why Parenting and Cookie featured previous Mr Richard albums in their magazines, and why parents often confess to listening to his music even when the kids aren’t around!
