Details:
It has been 5 years since the last original Oreo Blue recording. Having released the critically acclaimed DVD/CD, “The Oreo Blue Experience—A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix,” in the interim, the band was more than ready to start writing again. The twist in formula this time around is that band founder and saxophonist, Brian Crowne, is conspicuously missing. Finding their own way, the spectacular guitarist, Gary Hutchison, drummer/vocalist Stephen Boudreaux, and bassist, Rod Williamson, have ventured out as a three-piece act. The result is this new effort, Oreo Blue—The Trio. 13 new original songs written by Gary Hutchison and Stephen Boudreaux showcase each songwriter’s unique tastes and styles. But when delivered to you as Oreo Blue, it still contains that exceptionally original sound that can only be developed over years of performing together. Tracks such as the opener, “Blah Blah, Woof Woof,” hints at Gary’s Hendrix influence and ultimately melds into a shuffle fit for a king. “End of the Line” meters on the funky; “Home Run” is an homage to love and baseball; “Old Before My Time” is a tom-tom driving rationale for staying young even in your old age; “I-540” chronicles traffic frustrations in Northwest Arkansas…or is it a love song? “Sunrise” is a beautiful pen by Gary Hutchison in tribute to his young daughter, but you can find yourself lost in the song for all of your own reasons. And many more… The new Oreo Blue CD is a generous mixture of blues, funk, R&B, rock, and even a tongue-in-cheek country song thrown in for good measure to make it an enjoyable listening journey for everyone.

The CD was recorded, engineered, and mastered at the studios of Dan Robinson in Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA, and was produced by Stephen Boudreaux in his debut effort. Reproduction and distribution by Oasis Disc Manufacturing. Oreo Blue is still first and foremost a live music experience. We are proud to present Oreo Blue—The Trio to you and we look forward to seeing you on the road.
