MP3 Pia Fridhill Trio - Triptychon III: Until now...
Soulful acoustic pop songs with personal lyrics and a great female voice - Swedish singer/songwriter Pia Fridhill presents her melodic jazz influenced songs together with an a-capella Swedish folk song.
Details:
Swedish singer Pia Fridhill and her two musicians Jens Hoffmann and Wilhelm Geschwind present jazz influenced soulpop with strong melody lines, rich meaningful lyrics and expressional vocals. With minimum instrumentation they extract maximum musicianship from voice, acoustic guitar, piccolo double bass and percussion, creating a very personal sound ambience and a touching atmospheric soulfulness.
The third and last album in the Triptychon trilogy is also the most up-beat one of the three, starting with funky-jazzy “Lover” followed by the rhythm-intense pop song “Never said it was”. In the intimately reduced and sexy “Cradle of love” the lyrics take on a poetic description of physical and spiritual love. Naked anger kicks in in “Always my fault” where disputes between husband and wife are sung out. As a perfect round-up the Swedish traditional a-capella song “Gossen” about a harsh wife beater, delivers a chorus- and rhythm-packed echo of the Scandinavian past hard times.
The album was recorded by two-time Grammy Award winner Klaus Genuit.
Pia Fridhill (vocals, percussion elements)
Jens Hoffmann (acoustic guitar, vocals)
Wilhelm Geschwind (piccolo double bass, bass percussion)
