He began singing and learning to play guitar and bass as a young teen...grew up around Jackson, Tennessee playing music with Carl Perkins, W.S. (Fluke) Holland, Eddie Bush and others...Recorded more than a dozen sides at SUN records where he became friends with Scotty Moore, Elvis''s original guitar player. Rayburn later worked at Scotty''s studio in Nashville, Music City Recorders, where he honed his songwriting skills and made demos with Scotty and D.J. Fontana. Rayburn toured with recording artist Billy Walker. Walker recorded several of Rayburn''s songs including "Keep On Keep On Loving You"-a top ten hit and "Sing Me A Love Song For Baby"-a NUMBER ONE. Rayburn later toured with Bobby Bare for four years in the U.S. and Europe playing bass and fronting the band. Rayburn has written songs recorded by Sandy Posey, Charlie Louvin, Melba Montgomery, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Charley Pride, Vern Gosdin, John Conley, Jerry Lee Lewis and more. "SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY" is an appropriate title for Rayburn''s latest music project...This CD contains 14 ORIGINAL SONGS co-written with longtime Texas friend and songwriter Jerry Hunter.
