Details:
When Sarah Wilfong first begged for a violin at the age of three, little did she (or her parents) suspect that her music would take her to many strange and far off lands, (the U.K, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Alaska), encompass many styles, (18 years of classical training, lots of Irish fiddle, a bit of bluegrass, a touch of country, and a dash of Latin jazz), or lead her to meet some wonderful (and sometimes very weird) people who share her love and enthusiasm for music at large.
Having made the move from her native Chicago to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, she pursued a performance degree while keeping very busy with other musical activities, such as writing and premiering a suite for solo violin and orchestra, performing with Steven Tyler in the Berklee Performance Center, and performing with Charlie Haden and Michael Brecker at Carnegie Hall.
These days she is living the life of a road musician, having moved to Nashville to play with acclaimed country/rock band Mustang Sally. As she travels the country in the trusty Mustang Sally bus, she continues to meet more weird people, and generally have a wonderful time.
