Details:
As a songwriter, Scott’s work has been covered by world-class artists such as The Righteous Bros. and Crystal Gayle. He has been a long-time well-respected (multi-instrument) session player, having performed live and in-studio with various members of Wings, The Elton John Band, Pink Floyd, Tower Of Power, Earth, Wind & Fire, Spencer Davis, and many others.
Scott produced this album while recovering from a little motorcycle mishap; he ran his Harley over a cliff – an accident which required a cervical spinal fusion (performed through the front of his neck). The surgery effectively left him without a voice for nearly a year. Although he couldn’t sing, he could still play. He is convinced that writing music helped him get through the recovery process a lot quicker than “lying in bed all day watching Oprah.”
The result of that self-imposed therapy is “California” – a collection of New Age/Smooth Jazz, themed around his favorite places in the Golden State. Listen to the album and feel the power of Yosemite’s towering cliffs. Revv your engine down the curves of San Francisco’s Lombard Street. Catch the elephant seals playing on the warm sandy beaches in the odd-metered Monterey, a track inspired by Dave Brubeck’s soulful performances at the Monterey Jazz Festival. Whatever part of the world you call your home, this album will help you take a little California with you.
