"It is always a special experience to listen to Augusto Pirodda''s surrealist pianism. Augusto is outside the norms. His is a strong character, his artistic voice is his own, nobody else''s. It is difficult, very difficult, to find direct influences, to hear specific styles in his playing. Augusto is Augusto: take it or leave it.
His pianism is not for everybody. Always inside out, with a fabulous technique, always looking for something new, for something dissonant. On his keys the jazz standards take unexpected shapes, sudden flare-ups, dizzy accelerations and cataleptic slowdowns; all of this kept together by a "schizophrenic" vision of time, which belongs to Augusto and to nobody else.
Inimitable, unclassifiable, and most of all...BRAVO. Molto, molto bravo."
