Details:
Reaching Deeper is a significant musical milestone for Phil Biggs. The superb list of critically-acclaimed, Michigan-based artists who perform with him on this disc is impressive and the music reflects that diversity. Biggs'' good friend and fellow singer-songwriter Michael Crittenden produced a gem here. Take a listen and see if you don''t agree! Crittenden, who put Troll for Trout on the map more than a decade ago, has co-written three songs with Biggs and his musical direction makes an excellent complement to Biggs'' thoughtful lyrics.

Since his days in the late 1970''s as co-founder of the acoustic trio Kooyman, Biggs and Anderson through his recent return to solo performing, Biggs has passionately written a body of original songs including Shop Floor, Tennessee Flyer, The Light In You, Garden of Hope, Meridian Wind, Fallen Town, The Talking Earth, Spirit of Three Fires and Bells All Over the World.

Phil recently spent two years as a member of the contemporary Christian band, Beyond Belief and has occasionally performed with the legendary group Mid-Life Crisis, but always his first interest is in crafting a lyric and penning new tunes. “My roots in songwriting go back a long way and the focus of my work reflects themes of social issues, literature, spirituality, travel and, of course, relationships.” says Phil.

And what about all the incredible talent waiting for you here? Plenty of that. "The Light In You" kicks off this disc with a Cars-esque opening that builds to a fantastic finish thanks to guitarist Steve Westphal, and "Walk the Red Road" contributes unforgettable, ethereal lap steel riffs courtesy of Mid-Life Crisis lead guitarist Greg Morris. Catch Kevin Paul playing a Beatles-like tune "Heavenly Dreams" that sounds a bit like Eleanor Rigby. Cheryl Reeve, Kevin Paul and Sally Scobey deliver spot-on harmonies throughout and you will need to listen a time or two to capture all the fine musical touches the brilliant Michael Crittenden throws at you from the producer''s chair. All in all, lots of good listening awaits you with Reaching Deeper!
