Earl Carter - Guitarist / Producer
Washington, DC native, Earl Carter is not only an accomplished jazz guitarist, but also a successful producer, engineer and composer. During the late ''80s and early ''90s, he was a member of the platinum hit-making dance/GoGo band, "EU." With EU, he recorded music on the soundtrack to Spike Lee''s Do the Right Thing. In 1999, Earl laid several guitar tracks for many artists at P. Diddy''s New York City recording facility, "Daddy''s House." he has also co-produced dialogue recordings with his production partner J.R. Fenwick for motivational speakers Les Brown and Willie Jolley, author George Fraser and sports stars Jawan Howard and Nikki McCray.
Over the years, Earl has performed with many local and world-renowned artists, including Bobby Lyle, Alyson Williams, Bob Baldwin, Marcus Johnson, Nick Colionne, Mike Phillips, Jaared, Michael Lington, Freddie Jackson, Angela Bofill, Regina Belle, Tony Terry, Coolio, Rian Benson, Gerald Veasley, Bobby Humphrey, Pamela Williams, Miles Jaye, Jimmy Sommers, Sy Smith, Yahzarah, EU, Trouble Funk, David Dyson, Kevin Levi, Eric Valentine, Jay Williams, Lorenzo Sands, Patrick Cooper, Jackiem Joyner, Yvonne Johnson and many others.
Earl currently writes contemporary jazz, adult contemporary, R&B, pop, gospel and hip hop materials for record labels and other music publishers and producers. His writing and producing credits include compositions for EU, Randy Gill of 2D Extreme and Zoe Spencer. He can be heard on the new Bobby Lyle CD "Straight and Smooth", Marcus Johnson''s "Just Doing What I Do" (CD), Marcus Johnson''s "Live @ Blues Alley" (CD), Marcus Johnson''s "In Person (DVD), and Jaared''s "Hangtime" (CD) to name a few.
