Details:
After coming on strong to the music scene with their EP “Venus Blush” at the end 2004, Demonika and the Darklings’ long awaited full-length release “Shelter” is now ready for its debut.

Again working as co-producers with John “Wee Wee” Napier (Ethyl Meatplow, Nitzer Ebb), Demonika and the Darklings’ have created a more organic and fuller sound than their first collection of songs. DJ Bastard Darkly was brought into the fold on drums, and along with Dv8 Darkly on bass, provides a solid foundation to the music. Devlyn Darkly’s melodic violin compliments Demonika’s strong soulful vocals that invoke the energy of voices from the 60’s. With all these elements added together, “Shelter” takes the music several steps beyond what was hinted at with their first release.

“Shelter” includes two cover songs that are sure to attract interest from music fans unfamiliar with Demonika and the Darklings. Their cover of Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River” proves that they can take on a song from a completely different genre and make it distinctly their own. With Ministry’s “Everyday is Halloween” they breathe new life into an old goth classic.

Demonika and the Darklings’ “Shelter” is a departure from most traditional guitar based popular music and provides the listener with a unique sonic landscape of melancholy-tinged melodies and lyrical musings.

"Shelter" is an enhanced CD that can be viewed on your computer and includes lyrics, pictures, bios, and a video of Demonika and the Darklings performing "Watching From the Outside" live.
