“Eddie Foster for years has been a fixture of the music community in the Hill Country. I''m looking forward to finally hearing his solo work.” – Randy Rogers
You could usually find young Eddie Foster exploring one of the countless creeks that tend to meander through the quaint, picturesque town of Helotes, TX. On one evening in particular, during one of his many explorations, Eddie began to hear low rumblings and echoing chimes reverberating from a particular group of the numerous hills that tower over the small town. Like any curious boy would do, Eddie made his way over to the area from which the sounds were coming from. As he walked closer, the sounds started to get clearer, and before long Eddie would discover that he was actually listening to Willie Nelson and Ray Price resonating from the Historic John T. Floore’s Country Store. It would be experiences like these that would set in motion Eddie’s passion for creating and playing music.
As a boy, Eddie enveloped himself in songwriting and instrument mastery; spending countless hours devoted to both. In turn, this dedication would make him proficient at multiple instruments, including his current favorite, the steel guitar. Through his years, Eddie has received an abundance of inspiration from the musical styling’s of Neil Young, The Eagles, Lloyd Maines, and Chris Knight. These names are only a small sample of the numerous artists who have been influential in the foundation of Eddie’s wide spectrum of lyrics, sounds, and styles.
As with most devout musical artists, performing has been an essential corner stone throughout Eddie Foster’s life. From the time prior to his high school days till the present, Eddie has played performances for crowds in multiple venues throughout the great state of Texas. Recently, Eddie was a co-founder and co-member of the well renowned Randy Rogers Band. Through his years with the Randy Rogers Band, Eddie would prove to be an essential part of the band and its success; offering both his musical talents and his songwriting talents for the Band’s first and second albums “Live at Cheatham Street” and “Like It Used To Be”. The success from the Randy Rogers Band and their albums has turned Eddie’s songs “Copano Bay” and “Just This Side of Heaven” into classic hits that their fans still request. Eddie always felt at home playing and writing steel parts for Randy’s early works. He is pleased to have been a part of something that was strong and original.
Currently, Eddie has just completed his first solo project entitled “Copano Bay” with all songs being written, produced, and sung by Foster. It is a collection of heartfelt songs that tend to stir good feelings from its listeners. In a style that many would call folk-rock, Copano Bay delivers Jimmy Lafaveish love songs along with Jimmy Buffet style feel good tunes; a combination that is sure to satisfy. Eddie Foster is presently hitting the road in promotion of his new album. With his top notch band at his side along with an arsenal of great songs, Eddie is sure to leave the crowd with a smile on their face and a song in their heart…and that is a dream that a lit’ boy from Helotes, TX has always had!
