Details:
GEODESIUM, the eponymous first album, consists of electronic music recorded at Fiske Planetarium from 1975 to 1977. At the request of many pleased planetarium patrons who had inquired about obtaining the music they had heard in the shows, Mark put together an album of the most popular selections. He used only two instruments on the album: the EMS Synthi AKS (a suitcase-sized synthesizer with a painted-on capacitance-sensing strip for keys) and a Mellotron, so the music is quite analog and 70s-sounding.
The original vinyl LP and its first reprint were sold out by 1980. But in 1999, we remastered it, and for those GEODESIUM fans desiring a complete collection, we''ve created this custom CD-R. Plus, there''s now a bonus track not included on the original album, a 9-1/2 minute "orchestration" of a Mozart work, 12 Variations on the theme ''Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman'' -- the tune we know today as "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Only a couple dozen copies were distributed to planetaria as entrance music, so it''s a rarity!
