A melding which showcases the unique talents of each member of the Austin-based band. During the taping of Comedy Central''s "Insomniac", host Dave Attell had this to say about his ''echoset experience'': "Austin really is the music capital of the USA. The town is crawling with musicians and dreams. Here I am hanging out with some future stars of tomorrow, [echoset]... you guy''s, by the way, rock! That was amazing!" The episode, which aired in July of 2003, represented Austin''s famous music scene, featuring echoset as its live band. Echoset''s roots began in a friend''s garage in January of 2000, when native East Coasters, Beth Puorro (vocals, guitar) and Rae Goldring (bass), began to jam with one another. A few months later they teamed up with native Texans, Travis Cohee (guitar, backing vocals) and Michael Hayden (drums), to collaborate on the project now known as echoset. Like a soulful gypsy, Puorro has mastered the art of vocally seducing crowds until they get lost in the moment; a moment into which Cohee breathes life with his innovative and blistering guitar riffs. With Goldring''s ability to lay down palpable and hypnotic bass licks, and Hayden''s focus solely on ''tending to the groove'', the ''echoset experience'' thrusts listeners into a wondrous world of pulsating emotion and climatic energy. Voted one of Austin''s top rock bands by the Chronicle in 2002 & 2003, echoset has accomplished much in their three short years together. They have shared the stage with some of the most talented national and regional acts, including Michelle Shocked, Dada, The Burden Brothers, Patrice Pike and the Blackbox Rebellion (formerly Sister 7), Bob Schneider, and numerous others, (see complete list on Fact sheet). A band that is both socially and politically conscious, echoset was asked to join other top acts on Jim Hightower''s "Rolling Thunder Downhome Democracy Tour", and echoset regularly appears at charity events throughout the region. Motivated and driven, echoset has independently released two albums, both financial and critical successes that have enabled the band to successfully tour the West Coast three times in the past 12 months. By touring the West Coast and Texas region tirelessly, they have continually increased their fan base in multiple markets. Echoset''s skillful songwriting and electrifying stage performance results in something akin to a sound-induced energy epidemic in their appreciative crowds. In the summer of 2004 echoset will embark on their first United Kingdom tour, under the direction of Michael Farady. Echoset is a force to be reckoned with and we anticipate exciting things for these ''future stars of tomorrow''.
