Details:
Jim Serediak has been writing songs and guitar instrumentals since he received his first guitar at age eleven. Self taught until his early twenties Jim''s compositional and instrumental skills took on a more schooled sound upon undertaking studies in the music program at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, Alberta. It was during this period of study that Jim pursued his interest in the classical guitar and electro-acoustic music as well, and also nurtured a public interest in his music through appearances at folk festivals, clubs, on radio and through concert performances. Jim''s interest in many genres give his music a unique flavour.

This leads us to Jim''s latest musical offering. Jim Serediak adds "The Transcendent Sky" to his discography. With the musical input of Jamie Philp (electrie guitar) and John Towill (fretless bass), Serediak has crafted a work of musical intrigue featuring his intricate finger-style acoustic guitar and engaging lyrics. Songs of love, living and a passion for the natural world are interspersed with evocative instrumentals. "The Transcendent Sky" carries on in the milieu of Jim''s previous release entitled "Some Kind of Divine Cycle" which expored indigenous culture, conservation of nature and Jim''s observations of the cycle of life. "Some Kind of Divine Cycle" once again features the contributions of band mates Jamie Philp and John Towill.

Whether on recording or in live performance, the music often employs various other stringed instruments such as the bandura, charango, bazouki and lap steel guitar to add an element of colour to the musical blend. As well, the ensemble is most interested in exploring and improvising upon the music. Their use of delay, looping and other signal processing devices is also a trade mark sound.
